Its so hard to believe that Fall is already creeping in.  Much slower in some places than others, but still visible on the horizon.  Its my favorite season (though I could do without all of the holiday stress) and recently its hues have become some of my most loved.  The golds, reds and oranges I used to avoid like the plague are now threatening to take over my wardrobe.  I had always thought browns so dull, but now they feel comforting and cozy to me.

This skirt and the furniture pieces combine all these shades I’ve come to adore.  I love that the hem and waist follow the circular patterns of the skirts instead of a straight crease, giving it a very delicate appearance.

The runner on the table and the throw on the bench are clickable to color-change, sticking with the autumn tones.

Bubblegum Weekends 1

This is my first go at Bubblegum Weekends, simply because I just don’t own too many unusual hair shades.  But I picked up this style from Collabor88 and since it was a fatpack, I had all sorts of bubblegummy colors to choose from!

I just went very simple to start with, though my mind is already teaming with ideas for future posts.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Chartreuse

Chartreuse and puce are probably tied for my least favorite colors.  I own no chartreuse anything.  See up there in the styling credits for the dress where it says “lime green”?  We’re going to pretend it says “chartreuse”.  You all have great imaginations.  I know you can do it.

Color interpretations can be relatively subjective.  In my head, I’d always seen chartreuse as more of an olivey shade with some yellow thrown in for good measure.  The swatch given by Luna in last week’s post looked more like lime green.  So I found two outfits, took and edited two pictures, then decided which one I wanted to use.  The other one was yesterday’s blog called So Sparkly!.

Next week’s color is Liver.  Is it gray?  Is it brown?  Either way, I get nauseous just thinking about Liver.

I actually had to reshoot this look three times!  The first time was my fault.  I didn’t notice the pose I was using made it look like the shoulders were sloping downward and I had that lollipop shape going on.  Even though I’ve been using different shapes and skins in my blog pictures, that wasn’t the look I was going for.

The second time, SL was having a nervous breakdown and all the shots came out black, which I didn’t notice until three days later when I went to edit them.  Grrr, hate it when that happens.

Third time was the charm.  Though I would have tried as many times as it took because I totally love this shirt.  Its something I’d wear myself in RL either around the house or running errands.  I also love the combination of the Al Vulo skin and lip makeup layer from Insufferable Dastard too.

I took this picture and was in such a hurry, I forgot to copy the styling notes.  Of course I’d forgotten when I logged in again and immediately changed clothes.  So I had to go back and try to rebuild the information from just looking at the picture.  I apologize if I got some wrong (especially the skin since I have at the very least over 1000 skins).

I forgot to list the necklace.  Its one I snatched quickly from LouLou & Co. as I was getting something else on sale.  Its called Odysee and this is the ivory version.  I love the detailed beadwork and the way the fit lays.

I’ve been cutting back quite a bit in my shopping lately and being more discerning about the items I pick up from the bargain lists.  Instead of just tp and grab, I check the blogs, look at the pictures and actually ask myself if I would end up wearing it.  If the answer is yes, then I tp and grab.

Such was the case with these super-cute capris featured on the Fifty Linden Friday list last week.  These were available in a solid and this plaid and though I don’t normally wear patterned pants, these were just too cute to pass up.  By the way, did I mention how cute they are?

Also on my must have list since I saw the ad in my inbox was this top from League.  Very soft and feminine looking.  So very much not my usual style, but I’m spreading my fashion wings lately.

And look!  Another of my treasures from Hair Fair!  This year’s offerings from Exile were top-notch and I’m full of love for the rooted textures they’ve started offering.

One of the things I love about the special/bargain lists that come out weekly is that I find creators that are new-to-me (even though they may have been around for years).  I haven’t lived under a fashion rock, but often I go gushing to a friend about some store I just ran across and they’re like, “Where you been, they’ve been around forever”.  *Sighs*

 

I’m not sure how long Izzie’s has been open, but I just finally found them from the Lazy Sunday list this past weekend.  The more I looked around, the more I wanted and I had to force myself to leave after buying a couple pieces or I would have bought out the whole store.  I love the rich texture on the vest and the way the bottom prims flow.  You can’t see the shoulders because of the hair, but there is some cute detailing there as well.

 

I also finally found Al Vulo skins.  They are beautifully done and less than a thousand Linden each, which *I* consider affordable.  Most of my SL life, I’ve favored skins with heavily-lined eyes with thick, black lashes, which seems to be a consistent feature  with these skins.  I decided to go all-out with the one I selected and chose a red lip (unusual for me).
