I’ll Take a Vodka Please

Skin:  Laqroki;  Phoebe 2, Fair 01
Hair:  Exile;  Lady Versaille, vanilla roots
Dress:  Kyoot;  Vodka mini-dress, white
Bracelets:  Rozoregalia;  Hydra V 2&3

I was tp’ing around and picking up the things I wanted from the Fifty Linden Friday list and found myself in Kyoot.  I love the clothes, but can never seem to remember them during a fashion crisis.

As I was looking around and packing my inventory with more of the awesome things I’d missed, I found this dress.  Stunning!  Short (check), Tight (check), Sparkly (double-check)  I grabbed it quickly because I knew exactly when and where I was going to wear it.  (I love it when that happens)

Prepped Up

Skin:  Belleza;  Aiko, pale 01
Hair:  Head Mistress;  Wind in the Willows, blonde 1
Shirt:  Young Urban;  Black Sweatervest
Skirt:  Grixdale;  Lazy denim skirt, smog, dark
Socks:  Kyoot;  Lacey white knee socks, 2
Shoes:  Enkythings;  Ekota, black
Necklace:  Twisted & Spoiled;  Rosary Necklace (from the Demon Hunter set)
Bracelets:  Shiny Things;  Hippie bracelet & Stoned bracelet, hematite

I almost always go for the bombshell look and that’s definitely reflected in my inventory wardrobe.  But every once in a while, I come across an item outside my normal fashion preferences and my brain immediately starts putting together an ensemble centered around that piece.  Such was the case with this cute sweater vest  and shirt combination from Young Urban. This is one of my favorite go-to outfits when I need something in a hurry.  Its a little catholic school girl and a lot preppy.

Little Yellow Flowers

Skin:  Curio;  Airhead, Truth district gift
Hair:  Exile;  Bailey, Vanilla roots
Shirt:  Kyoot;  Sunday Girl, pear tree
Pants:  Kyoot;  Elbo trousers, taupe
Shoes:  Mstyle;  Rivea pumps, yellow flowers
Bracelets:  Cailyn’s;  Chunky cuff opal & Uzuri;  Ashan bracelet

I had a Kyoot attack a couple weeks ago when I found myself there to pick up these pants for Fifty Linden Friday.  As I was looking around, I saw this top in one of the ads and the pattern gave me a serious case of deja vu.  It took me a moment for it to click how perfectly it matches with my Rivea pumps from Mstyle!

I also thought I’d try out the gift from Curio for the Truth District opening.  I’m not sure about this particular one, but it has me interested enough that I put it on my list to pop over there to try demos of the newness offered.

Which also reminds me that I need to get over and check out Truth District.  I tried to avoid the opening madness because I dislike crowds.  Then RL intervened and it slipped my mind.  Now its on my list to go visit, hopefully later today.

He Does Like To Shop…

So surfing around the SL blogs, I run across the sites by Lourdes Denimore and Salvatore Otoro where they both discuss the challenge they undertook that originated on the Beauty Riot blog called Dare:  I Let My Boyfriend Dress Me.  They took a cute concept, adapted it for SL and came up with a great experiment I wanted to undertake.

So I approached Xan with the idea (though “approached” makes it sound like he had a choice).  More like I begged him to help me with this blog post by shopping around and finding me a complete outfit to wear.  He readily agreed until the anxiety set in when I pointed out I’d need hair, shoes and accessories.  I took pity on him and pointed him to a couple of the blog feeds to help him get the names of women’s clothing stores.  Instead, he fell in love (lust?) with one of the outfits and decided to try to re-create it himself.

Skin:  Belleza;  Aiko, medium 9
Hair:  LeLutka;  Inverted, glucose
Top:  Mon Tissu;  Lace crop top, white
Skirt:  So Many Styles;  Floral high waist skirt, blue
Belt:  Miel;  Cali cords, black
Lingerie:  Mon Tissu;  Floral lingerie, black
Socks:  Kyoot;  Lacey white knee socks, lace 2
Shoes:  Pixel Mode;  Baby T’s, black
Jewelry:  Mandala;  Necklace & Bracelets Pearl Rain, onyx

He did an admirable job copying the look and putting his own spin on it, creating something I would have never chosen myself, but ended up liking anyway.  And because he was such a good sport and completed the challenge on a very tight deadline I set for him…I also took a picture without the top and skirt, modeling just the lingerie.
