In These Shoes?

Skin:  Belleza;  Aiko, pale 11
Hair:  Exile;  Temptest, champagne
Shirt:  Utopia;  Ursula, 07
Pants:  G. Field;  Capri jeans, black
Shoes:  Slink;  Lulu, black

I don’t normally blog brand new items because there are a gazillion other bloggers that do that.  But just occasionally, there comes out an item that I must have and I must wear and then other factors convene and its like fate telling me I must blog it as well.  Such is the case with these new Lulu shoes from SLink.  I didn’t want to take them off, even when we’re tromping through a forest.

And the fate part?  I bought my second pair of Lulu’s Sunday before we went to Elegance Ballroom.  One of the singers sang “In These Shoes?” by Kirsty MacColl.  I liked the song and the next day I went to YouTube to find it and happened to notice in one of the comments that she had died.  Off to Google I went and found her very sad story and the injustice her death in Mexico received.

I don’t know if this is an official video or a fanvid, but it has good sound quality and you can enjoy the song:

Updated Penguin Suit

Skin:  Belleza;  Aiko, medium 1
Hair:  Exile;  Sirena, champagne
Top:  G. Field;  Floral Halter Top, white
Skirt:  Leezu;  Zarah flexi skirt, soft black
Bracelets:  Rozoregalia;  Hydra 2 & 3

I’ve always looked back fondly on the fashion trend of the mid-80’s of the female-version of the tux shirt.  I remember feeling so stylish when I wore mine with a black pin-stripe slim skirt with the kick pleats in the back and some simple black pumps.

So when I got the fat-pack of the G. Field top I featured earlier this week and discovered that the flower and the midriff prim piece were both color change, I started to mix and match.  This combination reminded me of an updated version of that tux shirt, so I paired it with a super-feminine long, flowing skirt to complete my black-tie ensemble.  Instead of cuff-links, I went with the Hydra bracelets and my stand-by Lady T’ shoes from Pixel Mode.

Finally Found: G. Field

Skin:  Belleza;  Aiko, medium 9
Hair:  Exile;  Caitrin, Stefani roots
Top:  G. Field;  Floral Halter top, lime
Capri:  G. Field;  Capri Jeans, white (not shown)
Shoes:  Mstyle;  Rivea pumps, yellow flowers
Jewelry:  Cheerno;  bangles, gold & EarthStones; Diamond Tennis bangle, gold

I must have been living under a rock to NOT have known about G. Field!  I finally found them during Shoe Fair when they released those cute Vilda boots.  I had put them on my list to go visit the mainstore, but hadn’t gotten around to it yet.  Then I got a notice about a new clothing release.  Wait, wut?  They do clothes too!

I immediately raced over and spent over an hour grabbing clothes and of course, more shoes.  This top was one of my selections and after wearing it, I can say I’ll be going back to get more colors because its absolutely adorable!

Also newly- released is the Rivea pumps from Mstyle in leopard print and floral options.  I’m not too big a fan of prints of any kind, but I completely fell in love with the floral.  Unfortunately, the fatpack is for both sets of prints, so I’ll have to go back and buy all the other floral colors separately.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Ruby

Skin:  Belleza;  Aiko medium
Hair:  Exile;  Artemis, champagne
Dress:  Plastik;  Shredder, heart Rubi
Shoes:  G. Field;  Vilda open boots, black
Bracelet:  Mandala; Sinra black

Since the moment I saw that swatch on Luna’s blog announcing what this week’s color would be, I’ve had the song “Ruby” by Kenny Rogers stuck in my head.  Oh Ruuuuuby, don’t take your love to town.  Dammit!  Maybe posting this will be the catharsis I need to purge it from my brain.

The shade has always seemed pretty subjective to me, ranging from a deep, rich red to a dark pink.  Finding *my* ideal of what ruby should be was…difficult.  I almost went with wearing rubies (and nothing else) when I ran across this perfect dress.  And I’m completely, hopeless crushed on my new G. Field shoes.

I can’t wait for next week’s color:  Denim.  I already have two ideas swirling in my brain. Decisions.  Decisions.
